Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can my Hanoverian approved Thoroughbred, be used to produce a Tynec?
A: In short. No. Thoroughbreds are one of the Riding line foundation horses, and Carriage horses should not have any riding lines within their pedigrees, and vice versa. A horse of a separate breed, but who is approved for a tynec foundation breed, may not produce Tynecs.
Q: Is live cover required, or can embryo transfers and sperm straws be used if a horse has passed away, or actively showing?
A: Live cover is not required like it is with the Jockey Club. Surrogate mares can be used and Artificial Insemination is completely acceptable.
Q: How old does my horse have to be to get evaluated?
A: Minimum age is 3 years.
Q: Do foals have to descend from one of the foundation Tynec Stallions?
A: Yes. These boys were selected based on merits we wanted to see in the breed. All Tynecs descend from one of the stallions listed on the breed profile page.
Q: How often are Evaluations held?
A: At bare minimum once a year. At most twice a year.
Q: Can the Tynec be used in other original breeds?
A: No.
Q: How often are Tynec Shows held?
A: Once a month, except when nationals run.
Q: What are nationals?
A: The nationals are a series of shows that are quite prestigious and earning titles in the Nationals is quite the accomplishment! Horses who place in the nationals are eligible to show in the big year end show
